The 21st Century Abolitionist

Candidate Spotlight: Marie Ann Buerkle
We at the Frederick Douglass Foundation wish to garner the support of members towards the campaign of Congressional Candidate Ann Marie Buerkle, NY-25.

Ann Marie Buerkle, a member of FDF, is in a tight race for the 25th U.S. Congressional seat between incumbent Democrat Dan Maffei. It has been reported that a winner may not be determined for at least a week.

As of Friday preliminary results show Ann Marie, Buerkle has 99,583 votes to her opponents' 98,899. Her lead is now 684. However, those results do not include 11,645 absentee ballots with only a portion having been mailed back to all respective counties.

A little about Ann Marie Buerkle:

"Ann Marie has a record of standing up for those in need as she is committed to public service and community involvement. Ann Marie knows that high taxes, ever expanding government giveaways, and exorbitant energy costs are driving businesses and jobs from Upstate New York. As our congressman, Ann Marie will fight to change that."(www.buerkleforcongress.com)

I am asking that you keep Ann Marie Buerkle in your prayers and continue to support our fellow member by donating to her "Post Election Fund." For more information regarding Ann Marie Buerkle please visit her campaign page.

Her opponent is preparing for a fight, let us back Ann Marie Buerkle by centering our focus and continue to support her campaign. Remember, Ann Marie is not only a Congressional bound Republican but a fellow Frederick Douglass Foundation member.

Sincerely,

Timothy F. Johnson, PhD
Chairman, The Frederick Douglass Foundation
