Dr. Timothy F. Johnson to Speak at "Delta Week " Event

WASHINGTON, DC - Timothy F. Johnson, Chairman and Founder of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, has been invited to be a part of Delta Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc's "Delta Week"; on the campus of Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, NC.

It was expressed by the Program and Planning Committee Chairperson for the Delta Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc; Ms. Cassidy Cannon, that she was saddened by the lack of enthusiasm within the student body when it pertains to the community. She states, "We as College students have become so consumed with the typical college lifestyle partying, Greek Life, Athletics, etc.; that we have forgotten to realize that there is a world outside of this University which we will soon enter."

Ms. Cannon states she sought out Dr. Johnson to do a keynote address for his many accomplishments, charismatic intellect and ability to connect with students.

The event entitled, "Black Men Empowered: Will the Real Men Please Stand?" will be held Tuesday January 11th, 2011 on the campus of Elizabeth City State University.

We, at the Frederick Douglass Foundation, commend Chairman Johnson for his dedication to the mission of the Frederick Douglass Foundation and continued commitment to educating our youth.
