FDF Friend and Supporter Jennifer Carroll Selected as Running Mate for Florida Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Rick Scott

WASHINGTON, DC - Timothy F. Johnson, Chairman and Founder of the Frederick
Douglass Foundation, today congratulated friend and supporter Jennifer Carroll
for being selected as the running mate of Florida Republican Gubernatorial
Candidate Rick Scott.

"Rick Scott has made an excellent decision in picking Jennifer Carroll as his
running mate," Timothy Johnson said. "She's a strong choice and will add
incredible momentum to the Republican ticket."

Jennifer Carroll served 20 years in the United States Navy. She current is a
member of the Florida State Legislature and was the first black female
Republican elected to that body. Jennifer also served as the Florida House
Majority Whip from 2004-2006.

"Following the contentious primary, I know Jennifer Carroll will work hard to
reach out to all constituencies, including women, minorities, veterans, and
Democrats to push Rick Scott to victory in Florida. With today's economic
problems, two business oriented candidates like Rick Scott and Jennifer Carroll
